Ric Mixon, Founder of WystWynd Designs
The WystWynd Design Team is led by founder Ric Mixon, a long-time architect who has specialized training and holds advanced certifications and is an active member of the professional community.
Ric Mixon, Architect, AIA, LEED AP, is a 1976 honors graduate of the University of Tennessee. In addition to LEED certification as a leader in the field of the Green Building movement, Mixon has also completed EarthCraft training which is the “Southeast’s standard for green building, pairing building science with regional know-how for exquisitely designed and renovated homes, buildings and communities.” He has also provided consultative review for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Ric’s professional leadership includes serving on the national and regional boards of the American Institute of Architects. In addition, he has helped improve the quality of life with design through the East Tennessee Community Design Center and the East Tennessee Housing Development Corporation.
He is licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, Connecticut, South Carolina and Virginia.
